This coated fabric resists all liquids below 170 degrees F from absorbing into the yarns and staining the garment. (The treatment has no noticeable effect on the feel of the material.) The fabric itself will also dry three to five times faster than untreated fabric and will not hold moisture like a conventional fabric, thus remaining lightweight even when wet.

  Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of skiwear in the United States.
